Welcome to Brightlingsea Cricket Club

rec

Welcome to the official Brightlingsea Cricket Club website. Brightlingsea is situated on the coast of Essex, between Colchester & Clacton. The team play their home matches at the Bayard Recreation Ground in Regent Road.

Brightlingsea Cricket Club play their matches in the Two Counties Cricket League, which is a feeder league to the East Anglian Premier League. The First XI play in Division Two, the Seconds in Division Five and the Thirds are participants of Division C. The First Team captain is Wesley Barton, the Second Team is led by Craig Finbow and Brad Hardy is in charge of the Third XI.

The club has enjoyed some success over recent years with the First Team gaining promotion to the top division for the 2005 season, as well as winning the Division Three title in 1992 and 1998. The Second Team won the Junior Cup in 2006 along with Division Six, following the Division Seven championship the season before, and the 3s won Division C in 2007.

We also have a very productive youth scheme, which should benefit all three teams over the next few seasons.

A couple of our senior members are currently showing their stuff on YouTube. The Chairman taking his time over one of his longest innings yet here, Toby is show-casing his forward defensive here...and Hinders narrowly missing out on the East Suffolk Javelin Record here...
